Should you have a First Look at your Wedding?

What is a First Look?

A First Look is when a couple sees each other on their wedding day before the ceremony. It's a moment set aside for you to have some time to see each other away from everyone. The first look could turn out to be one of your favourite parts of the day because you'll be able see each other privately and have time for just the two of you.

You could use this time to recite a few private vows to each or just take a break for a few moments before the rest of the day unfolds. If you have a first look, I will take a few moments to get some portraits of you.

Is a First Look for everyone? Many couples do not want to do a First Look and many couples choose to have one. Whatever you choose, make sure it's what you want as a couple.

What are some alternatives to a First Look at your Wedding?

First Touch

This is an alternative to a First Look if you are a bit more conservative but want to blend in a modern twist. You can still have some alone time before the ceremony but commit to not seeing each other. We can arrange for you two to meet at a place that will allow you to reach out and hold hands and enjoy a quiet moment. You can choose to read a letter to each other, say a prayer or just enjoy some quiet time.

Wait Until the Ceremony

This is classic and will never go out of style. If you're all about traditions and you can wait until the ceremony, then you can choose to wait and see your partner for the first time at the ceremony.

Whatever you choose, make sure it's what you want as a couple
